My Role as Lead UX Researcher In-Depth
As the team’s Lead UX Researcher, I was at the forefront of conducting, analyzing, and synthesizing our research. I collaborated with my design team throughout the process to share and gather insights, in order to drive our design decisions. I assisted our Lead User Interface Designer and Art and Branding Director in design decisions, based on our data.
As the Lead UX Researcher, I completed the following tasks:
Business Analysis
Completed business analysis, to determine the client’s working landscape, goals, definition of success, constraints, and financial model.
Competitive Analysis
Task Analysis of adoption process of RACC, as well as other pet adoption agencies.
Comparative Analysis
Feature inventory of top pet portal sites, including veterinary clinics.
Survey Synthesis
Synthesized all survey results by analyzing data and converting information into high-level insights. Noted key trends and quotes from users to share with team.
Secondary Research
Conducted additional secondary research, to empathize with and gain a deeper understanding of the client and users, including evaluating the client’s social media presence.
Problem Statement
Communicated key findings to team and collaborated with team to develop our problem statement.
Design Studio
Collaborated with team to use our current findings and problem statement to develop a design hypothesis, how-might-we statements, and sketches for potential solutions.
Design
Collaborated in a Design Studio with team, as well as additional design groups, to ideate solutions, based on user research. Assisted User Interface Design Lead with later iterations of wireflows, wireframes, and prototypes, based on research findings.
PowerPoint Presentation
Organized findings to build presentation outline and create final PowerPoint Presentation. Collaborated with design team to iterate on presentation design and improve the articulation of our process and results.
